Review of the Interpolated Finite Impulse Response Technique

FIR filters can achieve linear phase, but for a given set of specifications require much higher order than the corresponding IIR design, especially when the transition band is very narrow. This paper reviews the original and some further developments of the IFIR technique, which is used to lower the complexity of a FIR filter.
